Pat 78 makes first sale

78 year old Pat Jones found out about The Art Yard (TAY) when visiting Ivan's Fish & Chip shop on Reddal Hill Road, Cradley Heath.

Pat has always enjoyed painting art at home as a hobby and never thought her paintings would be a commercial success. She popped into TAY with her husband Tom for a look around and asked the gallery team for an opinion on her work. The result was that Pat was encouraged to enter 2 of her oil paintings into the winter 2017 exhibition. Pat's painting of 'meadow landscape' was sold immediately, and before the opening event evening got underway, to a local solicitor who had visited TAY during the setting up of the winter exhibition.

Pat is overjoyed with securing her first sale and now plans to become a regular exhibitor at TAY.

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
