MFAA presented volunteers award

Following a buffet lunch at West Bromwich Albion FC visitors' centre MFAA representatives Harry Bloomer and Suha Abdulla accepted a Community Organisation Award from The Worshipful The Mayor of Sandwell, Cllr Joy Edis. The award was presented in recognition of the work that MFAA volunteers manning The Art Yard gallery and studios in Cradley Heath are giving to the art community.

During the afternoon event live music was played by Doxology Project and a live performance of the play "I'll Do It All Again" with poems by people with dementia was delivered by Midlands Actors Theatre.

MFAA wishes to thank everyone who supports its activities for their contribution towards making the club a success.

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
