1st Green Landscape Delivered

April 25, 2020

COVID-19 has not inhibited the arrival of the 1st green landscape by Zoe Miller that will make up the Cradley Heath Green Landscapes project funded through a grant from Arts Council England. Project lead Martyn Harris challenged Zoe to create a drawing using her style of pointillism but focusing on the ornate dragon design bench seating found within grounds and surrounding parklands of Haden Hill House.

The finish picture by Zoe showcases the dragon benches set amid the formal floral gardens of the Haden Hill Estate.  Zoe said, "When I applied to take part in the landscapes project I knew it would be a challenge to produce a work that would be good enough compared to all the other landscapes produced by other artists. But, I had great fun exploring the park and deciding what benches to include to complete the brief set by Martyn. Being the first to hand in my work has put me in a position where everything that follows will be compared to my work. I don't know whether that's good or bad but taking part was a thrill and i can't wait to see what everyone else has produced once 'lockdown' through coronavirus is over."

Martrin Harris for MFAA said, "I encourage everyone to have a go at taking part in the green landscapes project. Coronavirus has hindered the way in which the project is progressing but never-the-less it has not stopped the project. I encourage everyone to still take part by visiting the green landscapes of Cradley Heath and creating a landscape picture

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
