Creating Butterflies with Maren Lilley

Cradley Heath Creative member Maren Lilley kindly invited the volunteers of Midland Film and Art to observe her passion for crafting butterflies at a special event for young children under five which took place at a children's centre in Lye.

When asked about the event by Cradley Heath Film she replied, "Butterflies are my favourite, and when I was asked to do this butterfly project I was absolutely delighted!"

During the morning Maren helped the children to create butterfly pictures using a variety of techniques and materials, which included the use of; feathers, ink, pencils, crayons, glue, fabric, coloured card, scissors, etc

German born artist Maren Lilley is a very creative and positive individual and MFAA will be involved in an exhibition showing her own works in September 2014. Watch this space!!!

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
