Men's Mental Health Exhibition

LUKE HUDSON has been a staunch supporter of The Art Yard team during the recent move to our new gallery and studio complex on Upper High Street, Cradley Heath.

As a thank you to Luke for his hard work and support the TAY team offered a free solo show exhibition. The result was that Luke created a fantastic series of 20 pencil portraits of well know world-wide celebrities. All 20 male figures have suffered from a lack of mental well-being at some point in their lives and Luke wanted to highlight the importance for men of maintaining good mental health.

The notice displayed with the portraits during the exhibition highlighted the differences between men and women when it comes to seeking good medical help or social support at difficult times.

The team are grateful to Luke for taking the time to put on the exhibition..../

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
