Anna-Christine Pridden

Midland Film and Art members had the opportunity to audition Anna-Christine Pridden on Friday 5th June at Scary Canary The Venue, High Street, Stourbridge. Members were very pleased with the tear-jerking performance and invited Anna-Christine to sing 'All The Fine Young Men' at the War Era Sing-Along event held at Two Gates Ragged School Chapel on Wednesday 17th June.

Information on the event can be found HERE

The audience were treated to an audio/visual extravaganza mixing animation, slide shows and heritage songs and the regular congregation beforehand decorated the interior and exterior of the chapel in bunting and war memorabilia. Many dressed up in war era attire and waved their flags with joy.

After the refreshment interval Anna-Christine opened the second half of the show. The emotive performance was an highlight of an evening which had great entertainment throughout. Harry Bloomer (a founder member of MFAA) compered the event as part of Cradley Memorials Heritage Trail supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
