Legacy Portrait - Steve 'Ford'

The portrait of Steve Ford (Stephen Peter MUKANOVIC) created by Wozart as part of MFAA's Character Portraits Project took centre stage in front of the coffin at his funeral on Tuesday 12th February 2019 at St Mary's Church, Kingswinford. A much loved hospital children's ward volunteer Steve delivered over 551 'Dreams Come True' to seriously ill young people over 35 years. MFAA felt proud to have known Steve and to have created a legacy on canvas and in film about his life. Steve's legacy portrait goes on display between 15th April and 30th June at DY1, Volunteer Centre, Stafford Street, Dudley and will be centre stage again on 21st May at a gathering of local volunteers organisations at Brierley Hill Civic Hall when his movie portrait will be screened.

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
