High Sheriff Portrait Reveal


On Thursday yardies Martyn Harris ARBS and Harold Bloomer FRSA attended a evening at Deep Caribbean Experience restaurant with the High Court Judges that was hosted by the High Sheriff of the County of West Midlands 2023-24, Wade Lyn CD DL CBE.


During the event Martyn and Harry took time to reveal the oil painting portrait of Wade wearing the regalia associated with his office. Harry helped to arrange the portrait which Martyn has recently been working on in his studio at Cradley Heath. The portrait is near completion, it just requires varnishing.



The portrait has a strong narrative that links to Wade's life journey and its setting was provided in cooperation with Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

Midland Film and Art

 

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
