The Art Yard volunteers have a new exhibition space.

Sandwell Council has provided the gallery with a new public art exhibition space within the Council House at Oldbury.

For sometime MFAA group management (c/o The Art Yard) have been working together with Stacey Bagdi, the council's Cultural Development Manager (Museums, Libraries and Archives Service), to establish a public place inside the Council's HQ building to set up exhibitions of art created by local artists.

The 1st exhibition was installed on Monday, 15th June 2026 and each subsequent exhibition will run for about 2 months. In the longer-term other Sandwell based artists and groups will be invited to share use of the exhibition area to showcase their creative talents.

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
