The Art Yard Makeover Nearly Complete

The Art Yard makeover is almost complete as the gallery and studios get a new shop front sign erected on Reddal Hill Road, Cradley Heath. The colourful sign reflects the transformation of the building into several useful arts spaces that can be used by visiting artists. Lou has already held the first still life drawing session in the classroom and Woz has set up his art studio in one of the side rooms.

Woz said, "We wanted to create a typical Black Country yard with a shared community space that public see and with access to more private areas for art work requiring more thought and concentration, and that's why it's called The Art Yard. The new sign says exactly what you get inside the building. We're close to completion and should open within the next week"

Midland Film and Art

Midland Film and Art is a membership club where people can enjoy screenings of films or view artwork and crafts that would otherwise not be shown in mainstream cinemas or exhibitions, or be available locally. These shows usually have an educational aim, introducing new audiences to different audiovisual works through screening and display, encouraging participation in arts and crafts. A common feature that may characterize a Midland Film and Art meeting is that they either begin with an introduction to the audience and/or end with the promotion of a discussion about the film/art, where assistants, organizers and sometimes the filmmakers/artists themselves, exchange their views.
