MFAA gets go-ahead for Cradley Heath Green Landscapes project
Martyn Harris (MFAA Secretary) has received the go-ahead from Arts Council England (National Lottery) to run Cradley Heath Green Landscapes project.
The project will benefit from an ACE grant of £15,000 with the addition of 'in kind' support from partnership organisations to create outcomes that will help local green spaces volunteers to showcase the work they do in our communities. All 5 green open landscapes of Bearmore Recreation Ground, St Lukes Green Space, Haden Hill Park, Mary Macarthur Memorial Gardens and Mouse Sweet Brook Nature Reserve about Cradley Heath will host the integrated arts project with participating landscape artists creating a legacy landscapes that will be used to increase public awareness and use of these unique sites.

Martyn Harris will lead the project for MFAA and has already identified through an earlier selection process artists that will prepare commissioned landscape art works. Martyn said, "I am excited to be leading my first project for the group and know I have the support of a very experienced team behind me to ensure the project is completed on time, delivers good valued legacy outcomes and particularly involves the community participating in creating landscape arts. Our partnership organisations include, Tesco Express, Community Link, Sandwell Libraries Service, Creative Arts (Oldbury), Halas Homes and 'Friends' groups from local parks and museums."
Club Treasurer Harry Bloomer said, "The project provides an opportunity for large numbers of budding community artists and experienced artists alike to become involved at all levels and there is every chance that finished works will be publicly displayed at the end of the project."
The project is set to last until late summer 2020.
